The 2007 IGS Match Play competition saw a total of 64 entrants competing in pairs on a regular basis from September 2006, towards the grand final, which took place in July 2007.
Two finalists - Richard Glover and Greg Martin won the opportunity to play the final match at the prestigious Valderrama Golf Club in Southern Spain. At the end of the day Richard Glover triumphed.
The first prize of a 200 euro voucher for Golf Friends was awarded to Richard later on that evening in the Valderrama clubhouse.
The second prize, a 100 euros voucher, went to Greg Martin.
The two players also enjoyed a delicious meal with their families at the Valderrama clubhouse restaurant as part of their prize. Both players immediately submitted their names to be included in the 2007-2008 competition.
The success of this year's competition has encouraged even more participants in the current matchplay which started in September / October 2007.

As the IGS Matchplay competition is now under way, the list is now closed and no more new competitors can enter - the Matchplay draw was made at Estepona Golf Club on 25th September 2007.

A knockout competition over several rounds, using adjusted handicaps, open to all members of the IGS International Golf Society.
The draw was made 25th September, and matched players are required to complete their rounds within a 2-month period, using any Spanish golf course. This allows occasional visitors to the Costa del Sol to participate.
The final will be played at Valderrama Golf Club in July of 2008, where the two finalists will fight it out in a match paid for by our sponsors, OIB International. This is a fantastic opportunity to play this prestigious golf course, home of the Volvo Masters as well as the Ryder Cup in past years. A complimentary dinner in the clubhouse will also be paid for.
Prizes will also be awarded to successful stage winners
beyond the second round of the knock-out.
